Job Summary
- The Quality and Environmental Manager manages and oversees Quality functions, including development and maintenance of quality/environmental systems, processes, procedures and/or documentation.
- Reviews, interprets, and incorporates quality standards, regulatory standards, customer standards and internal quality requirements throughout the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Manages the Quality Department, and both In-Process and Receiving Inspection functions.
- Develops methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
- Provides input in the development of strategic Quality plans to achieve company objectives.
- Develops, documents, implements, and trains on quality forms, manuals, procedures, systems and/or processes to ensure compliance with quality system and customer requirements.
- Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently to meet or exceed organization goals.
- Manages budget for the Quality Department.
- Trains, develops and evaluates subordinates and other staff to improve current performance.
- Undertakes other duties and functions assigned by management.
- Work from the concept stage to the part submission warrant (PPAP) to assure quality in new product development.

- Development of process Flow Charts
- Development of control Plans
- Development of DFMEA
- Assist design engineers with the development of DV and PV testing.
- Development of PFMEA
- Maintains our Quality Management and Environmental Management systems.
- Ensure that Ace/Rokwell/and Van K meet all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Responsible for internal auditing both QMS and EMS at all facilities.
- Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering department.
- Research and analyze improved inspection methods.
- All other duties as may be assigned by Manager.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least two years’ experience and/or ASQ certification.
- ASQ certification, CQE or CQM preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO9001:2015; ISO 14001: 2015; APQP process or ISO quality systems is required.
- Two years minimum experience in the OE and/or aftermarket automotive parts industry is preferred.
- TS 16949 knowledge preferred.
- Automotive powertrain or wheel engineering experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes is required.
- Involvement in corrective actions using 8D methods preferred.
- Must be able to work with cross-functional teams and understand various engineering disciplines and functions.
- Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
- Experience with IQMS is a plus.
- Experience in Microsoft Windows/Office required.
- Occasional travel required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time.
- Must be able to frequently move about the department to access office supplies and equipment.
- Reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare production reports.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions and operate computer equipment and measuring instruments and tools.
- May relocate equipment weighing between .5 (1/2) pound up to 50 pounds at various times.
