|Title||PRESS OPERATOR – 1ST SHIFT|
Press Operator position will work on the first shift, Monday – Thursday. The successful candidate will operate a Press and be able to provide complete, accurate operation at assigned work cell, to include:matching of job packet to job control plans, SPC sheets. insert sheets, proper gauging–progressive gauges, micrometers, proper machine guarding and job cards while providing legible and accurate paperwork. Will perform stamping of all parts. Job task must be performed “safely and satisfactorily”. Immediate communication with supervisor to advise when job is close to complete, completion of job, part irregularity, quality problems, machine malfunction or breakdown, machine not making rate. Purchase of personal tools as required by company policy. Dependability to work as a team to include daily attendance, on-time reporting to work station, timely return from break periods and restroom. Assume other duties as directed by supervisor.
Skills / Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assemblies. Ability to verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators. Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time. Must be able to frequently move about the department to access moving parts and machinery, etc. Reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare production reports. Manual dexterity and visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machinery, and visual inspection of parts. May relocate metal parts and equipment weighing between .5 (1/2) pound up to 70 pounds at various times. Finished parts may weigh up to 70 pounds. An automatic feed machine that moves the parts through and puts them directly into a box, no handling of parts. Stand and watch that the parts do not get hung up. This process runs 3,000 to 4,000 parts a day.
